Dana White On UFC – Reebok Deal: ‘It’s Been A Home Run’

The UFC – Reebok sponsorship has been highly controversial since the original deal was announced. There have been reports in the past that the deal is not working out how the two sides thought it was going to be and that sales are down. It also doesn’t help that fighters are paid dramatically less in sponsorship than they were once paid before Reebok came into the picture.

UFC President Dana White commented on the criticism that the deal has received from fans, fighters, and media members alike by saying that the deal is a “home run” and that “we’ve only just begun,” when speaking to The Telegraph in Dublin in Dublin after UFC Fight Night 76, which was held in the city and aired on UFC Fight Pass this past Saturday.

Some think it’s a great idea while some are vocal about how bad it is for the sport/organization. UFC fighters Brendan Schaub and Tim Kennedy have been the most vocal about the deal. Schaub went as far as saying that he would not fight in the UFC again because Reebok pays less than his previous sponsored did.

“The backlash to Reebok was ridiculous, but everybody thinks they know all about this sh*t, and they have all the answers,” White explained to The Telegraph. “But let me tell you – this has been an absolute home run for Reebok. Home run for them.”
