Cezar Ferreira did enough to edge out Nate Marquardt.

The third bout on the main card of tonight’s (Sat., November 11, 2017) UFC Fight Night 120 from the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia, featured a middleweight clash between Nate Marquardt and Cezar Ferreira.

A leg kick was there for Ferreira early. Marquardt moved forward and looked for a haymaker. Ferreira landed a left hand as Marquardt moved forward. He connected with another left hand. Marquardt blocked a high kick. Blood trickled down the nose of Ferreira. A cut formed above the eye of Marquardt.

Round two began and Ferreira went for the leg kick. Marquardt shot in and pressed his opponent against the fence. Ferreira ended up going for a takedown of his own. He scored the takedown, but Marquardt got right back up.

Ferreira went for a spinning backfist. Marquardt had a high kick blocked.A left hand got in for Ferreira. A clean right hand was there for Marquardt. Marquardty knocked down his opponent and the two ended the round swinging.

Right away Ferreira scored a takedown in the final round. He connected with some body shots. The two scrambled and Marquardt landed a knee to the body. Ferreira scored a huge takedown and moved to side control. He then moved to the north-south position. The round ended with Marquardt in top control and he sliced Ferreira’s head with an elbow.

Two of the three judges scored the fight for Ferreira.

Final Result: Cezar Ferreira def. Nate Marquardt via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
