Arnold Allen jokes about Jean Silva’s surfboard move at UFC 324
UFC featherweight contender Arnold Allen has given his thoughts on Jean Silva’s viral surfboard moment against him at UFC 324.
Last weekend, Arnold Allen came up a bit short in his attempt to defeat Jean Silva. It was a competitive, tough fight between two incredibly fun fighters in the division, but ‘Almighty’, in the eyes of the judges, lost on the scorecards. Now, he will go back to the drawing board as he attempts to figure out a way to get back into contention at 145 pounds.
At one point during the fight, with Arnold Allen on the canvas, Jean Silva decided to stand on his back and act as if he was riding a surfboard. It was the kind of bizarre, strange thing that we have come to expect from Jean, with his antics quickly turning him into one of the biggest personalities on the roster in the last twelve months.
In a series of tweets, Arnold Allen joked about the whole thing, even with Silva himself.
Arnold Allen laughs off Jean Silva’s surfboard move
Silva: “Thank you so much for sharing the octagon with me”
Allen: “Likewise brother, thanks for the fight. I am not a surf board though [laughing face]”
Allen: “Ya know what surfings gay too”
The final part of his tweet was referencing the pre-fight press conference, when Silva began barking as he usually does, to which Allen responded “bark if you’re gay”, utilizing that classic English sense of humor once again.
Hopefully, Allen is able to make some adjustments and come back even stronger from this loss. As for Silva, one could make the argument that he is only one (or two) big wins away from earning a crack at the title, which just goes to show the kind of progress he has made up the featherweight ladder.
