Former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Superstar CM Punk is all set to make his highly-anticipated Octagon debut, when he takes on UFC President Dana White’s Looking For A Fight standout Mickey Gall on the main card of September 10’s UFC 203 from Cleveland, Ohio.

Much has been made of Punk’s sudden thrust into the big leagues of mixed martial arts (MMA), as the former professional wrestler has had no amateur experience in the sport and has been given an opportunity that most men in the industry have worked their entire lives for, causing upset amongst many of the promotion’s talents.

cm punkOne 170-pound division member who is also in uproar at Punk’s sudden UFC debut is promotion veteran Lorenz Larkin. Larkin spoke with TMZ Sports, courtesy of FOX Sports, and expressed his displeasure for the sudden opportunity given to the former WWE star:

“I would hope that he loses,” Larkin said. “I can’t just go and be like, ‘Hey, I want to join the (expletive) Baltimore Ravens. I want to be on the Patriots.’

I can’t just jump on and be like, ‘I’m going to play football, and I’m going to be in the NFL.’ So it’s like the same type of thing. You can’t just jump in.

We’re supposed to be the cream of the crop — we’re supposed to be like the NFL of fighting. So it’s like, no normal guy could jump out and be on an NFL team. So what the hell is the difference?

He’s never fought a day in his life … [The WWE stuff] is cool, but if I go over there, I’m going to suck and vice versa, if he comes over here, he’s going to suck.”

Larkin expects Gall to make quick work of Punk, and in not so pretty fashion, as he claims the UFC doesn’t ‘have enough insurance to cover that fight’:

“I don’t think the UFC has enough insurance to cover that fight.” Larkin said. “It’s like me going heads up with Marshawn Lynch, with pads on. He’s gonna run me over.”

Mickey Gall cm punkPunk and Gall will throw down on the main card of UFC 203 live on pay-per-view (PPV), from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio on September 10, 2016.
