Renan Barao Warns TJ Dillashaw He’ll Be Waiting

The UFC saw another blockbuster title fight go down the drain when news broke yesterday (Mon. March 24, 2015) that bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw had been forced out his awaited UFC 186 rematch with former champion Renan Barao due to a broken rib.

Barao was not surprisingly angry with the unfortunate news, as he’s been training hard for his second chance at revenge on “The Viper,” who took his belt with a dominant five round performance in one of the more shocking UFC upsets of all-time at last May 2014’s UFC 173.

“The Baron” took to Instagram to warn Dillashaw not to continue hiding from him.

“As everyone should be aware, my opponent, TJ Dillashaw, got hurt and we will not fight on the 25th is a shame because I was preparing as best we can for this fight.
So, I just have one thing to say this time: Dillashaw, u can run but you cannot hide. Your time will come and you will do everything you’ve been saying you will do without escape, or I make u eat your words.
I’ll be waiting. “

One can hardly blame Barao for his frustration with Dillashaw’s withdrawal, but in all honesty, he, too, had a failed chance at their first rematch when he was rushed to the hospital after passing out before the weigh-ins at their scheduled UFC 177 rematch this past August.

Barao was also thoroughly handled in their first match-up, making it tough for him to talk too much trash about the champion. To top it all off, Barao would most likely not even have the opportunity to fight for the belt if former champion Dominick Cruz not sustained yet another debilitating knee injury after his UFC 178 return.
