Duane Ludwig suffers a broken ankle at UFC on Versus 1

Within the first minute of Duane's bout against Darren Elkins at UFC on versus disaster struck for Ludwig. He came ready to fight as always but the evening was cut short for Duane 'Bang' Ludwig as he suffered a horrible broken ankle following a take down from his opponent, Elkins. Hats off to Elkins who, as soon as he heard Ludwig claim it was broken, jumped off and stopped fighting. 

Ludwig who now holds a record of 19-11 was hoping to bounce back from a submission loss to Jim Miller at UFC 108, and he will feel very unlucky losing via TKO due to injury against Elkins. UFC president Dana White had this to say;

'That was a tough break; we’ll see what happens with him. He's always a kid that been on the radar, always hanging out there and willing to fight.'

soon after the fight Ludwig's camp confirmed that it was a broken ankle and that it is yet to be determined how long Ludwig will be out of action for. A terrible blow for Ludwig who has provided some great fights with his aggressive stand up style and knockout power.
