We may have witnessed the sad end of an era in tonight’s (Sat., November 8, 2014) UFC Fight Night 56 main event from the Ginásio Municipal Tancredo Neves in Uberlândia, Brazil.
No. 10-ranked UFC light heavyweight Ovince St. Preux didn’t take long to dispatch a skidding Shogun Rua, nailing the former Pride champion with a pinpoint left hook before swarming with followup shots to earn a TKO finish in only 34 seconds.
St. Preux called out for a bout with Fabio Maldonado or Anthony Perosh, but he’s most likely headed for a much higher ranked opponent. Meanwhile, Shogun’s fighting future is completely up in the air, and it may be for the bet if he does not return.
