The Light-Heavyweight division was once the premier division of the UFC. And although it is still fairly stacked, the now short list of opponents is quickly thinning out. Partially thanks to the insane talent of Jon Jones. We’ve seen the 205 belt move around more than any other over the years, and for the very first time since Chuck Liddell it seems to have finally found it’s home on the waist of a talent that continuously grows and get’s better with every opponent. Without many threats left to challenge hi

Where Are They Now? A Look Back At The 2007 P4P RankingsIt’s truly amazing to see how fast the landscape can change in a sport that continues to grow as rapidly as MMA does. It’s been 5 years since 2007, which in this sport is practically a generation bordering on an eternity. And yet without fail, our surroundings are once again drastically different from what they were. Violence. That is the first thought that pops into the head of any long-time fan of MMA when it comes to Wanderlei Silva. Unbridled, rampant, bloody, violence. The thought is both good and bad for him, as he is not the only to one to inflict pain when entering the ring/cage with another man. Dan “Hendo” Henderson came out today with a few comments about his strategy to defeat Jon Jones for the UFC Light Heavyweight championship. Never one to beat around the bush, Henderson was frank in his discussion about the title fight at this weekend’s UFC 145. While Jones did not finish the former champion Rashad Evans as he had three previous champions, he utilized accurate strikes to keep Evans well outside of his range. That is not the way to be successful against a fighter like Jon Jones

Jon Jones was 6-0 when he first stepped into the Octagon, defeating Andre Gusmao via unanimous decision at UFC 87. From there he went on to defeat Stephan Bonnar, again securing a unanimous decision. After that, none of his fights would go the distance and his only loss would be a disqualification for delivering 12 to 6 elbows to Matt Hamill in their December 2009 match up.
Early in his run with the UFC, Jones was looked upon as a humble fighter, someone with great talent, but without a sense
Following his loss to Benson Henderson at UFC 144 it seems like Frankie Edgar is feeling some pressure to drop down to the 145 pound division to face Featherweight champion Jose Aldo.
Some of that pressure is being exerted from fans, but some of it is coming from a man that has a good amount of say in Edgar’s career, UFC President Dana White. Following Edgar’s loss, White spoke to MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani and said, “I would love to see Frankie move down to 145, I’ve
