Recently Strikeforce World Heavyweight Grand Prix winner Daniel Cormier has found himself in the news a lot due to his November 3rd fight rapidly approaching, with no opponent named. After Frank Mir endured a knee injury that forced him to withdraw, it was reported last weekend that Matt Mitrione as offered the bout with Cormier but turned down the UFC’s offer to go to Strikeforce. The Strikeforce Grand Prix: Barnett vs. Cormier salaries for the fighters were released by the California State Athletic Commission on Monday, reports MMAWeekly.com.Topping the list were Josh Barnett, who lost to Daniel Cormier, and Gilbert Melendez who won over Josh Thomson by split-decision. Josh Barnett breaks his hand on Cormier’s head
Daniel Cormier broke his right hand when he knocked out Antonio Silva in September 2011. Last night he broke it again in his Strikeforce fight with Josh Barnett. In fact, he and Josh Barnett fought most of their five-round war in the cage with broken hands as Barnett broke his left hand early in the first round.
