Sara McMann Submits Alexis Davis In Las Vegas
Female bantamweight action was on display for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 24 Finale’s second main card bout. Former title challengers Alexis Davis (17-7) and Sara McMann (10-3) stepped inside the Octagon at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
The return of Davis, who hadn’t fought since April 2015, was not a successful one.
McMann got the fight started with a right hand. She landed a straight body punch. Davis landed a leg kick and went for a combination. McMann answered with a more effective combination. She completed a takedown. Davis looked for a triangle and rained down some elbows. McMann remained in control and landed a short punch. She moved Davis towards the cage and landed some strikes until the round was over.
Davis opened the second round with a right hand. McMann completed a hit toss and “Ally-Gator” went for a leg lock. McMann was able to avoid the submission attempt. She went for an arm triangle and eventually forced the tap.
