Just when you may have thought the UFC injury bug had subsided, breaking news comes to reveal that the always controversial Josh Koscheck is out of his UFC 151 co-main event bout with fellow top Welterweight Jake Ellenberger. News has broke that the co-main event to September’s UFC 151 featuring Jon Jones vs. Dan Henderson is set. Jake Ellenberger is on a rise up the UFC Welterweight division rankings, currently enjoying a six-fight winning streak with four (T)KO finishes. Having only lost a razor-thin decision to Carlos Condit in his last eleven, Ellenberger seeks a title shot with a win over Martin Kampmann on June 1st. While it would appear that Ellenberger is riding high right now, many have become his detractor after he came out strong against Diego Sanchez at UFC on Fuel TV 1 last February but faded late in the third round.

Oddly, it was Kampmann who handed Condit his last defeat, beating the current interim Welterweight champion via split decision on April 1, 2009. After being promised a “dog fight” in the UFC 143 main event, UFC fans could not be blamed if they were somewhat skeptical when Diego Sanchez proclaimed that his UFC of Fuel TV main event bout against Jake Ellenberger was going to be the same.  
After 15 minutes, I’m not sure if you could construe what occurred between Sanchez and Ellenberger as a dog fight, but even if you don’t there’s no denying that it was one of the more entertaining fights that fans witnessed
