News has broke that the co-main event to September’s UFC 151 featuring Jon Jones vs. Dan Henderson is set. Welterweights Jake Ellenberger and Josh Koscheck will square off in the Octagon in a bout of two highly-ranked fighters coming off of a loss. Both looking to get back on track and claw towards the title shot, the fight presents a very interesting dynamic for a division that is currently experiencing quite the logjam at the top.

Jake Ellenberger is on a rise up the UFC Welterweight division rankings, currently enjoying a six-fight winning streak with four (T)KO finishes. Having only lost a razor-thin decision to Carlos Condit in his last eleven, Ellenberger seeks a title shot with a win over Martin Kampmann on June 1st. Diego Sanchez:
“You know, this is a big fight with Jake Ellenberger because I believe he is one of the top guys in the division. He has more momentum
Jake Ellenberger was on a four fight winning streak before dropping a somewhat controversial split decision loss to Carlos Condit at UFC Fight Night 19. Ellenberger had the best of the early portion of what was a predominantly stand up fight and almost finished Condit in the first round before Condit came back and won the fight via split decision. Since then Ellenberger has won his last two fights and will look to maintain form against the older but somewhat less experienced Rocha.
