Josh Hokit Aims Another Verbal Shot at Alex Pereira: “Chama means fu*k you”
Josh Hokit has once more taken back-to-back digs at former two-division UFC champion Alex Pereira.
Hokit took aim at “Poatan” during the UFC Freedom 250 presser, sparking a heated reaction from Ilia Topuria, and later doubled down by calling out the Brazilian.
Check out the heated exchange below:
Alex Pereira vacated his light heavyweight throne earlier this year and will be facing Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight title this weekend in the co-main event of UFC Freedom 250.
Meanwhile, Hokit will be taking on Derrick Lewis that same night. The controversial American fighter is confident he can knock Lewis out, after which he wants to face “Poatan.”
Josh Hokit Takes Swipe at Alex Pereira
During a recent interview with MMA Junkie, while calling out Alex Pereira once again, Josh Hokit said:
“Alex Pereira, I want to chama on Alex Pereira’s mama. Omg, he said mama, he said mama. He said he said he is gonna chama on his mama.”
The word “Chama” has multiple meanings, including “call” and “flame,” but Alex Pereira has popularized this catchphrase, using it in a way that translates to “let’s go.” However, Hokit is still not convinced that “Poatan” has revealed the REAL meaning of “Chama” to his fans. The 28-year-old added:
“What does Chama mean? What if Alex was playing all of us, and Chama means like “fu*k you” or something the whole time? Imagine that. Man, what a legend.”
During the same interview, Hokit opined that although most of Pereira’s fights are fun to watch, to date, he’s faced mostly strikers in the UFC.
“I want Pereira. He’s a legend in the sport. Or at least that’s what everyone’s saying. I just think he came into the sport at the right time with a bunch of strikers. I don’t take away the whole rivalry with [Israel] Adesanya. That was great. But everyone else was just favorable matchups. It was all strikers. But at least he was able to perform a certain way and get those opponents out of there, and all of his fights are pretty fun to watch. “
Lastly, Josh Hokit added that “Poatan” has never faced anyone like him and confessed that he wants to use the Brazilian’s name to “catapult” his own profile.
“I would like to also use his name to catapult my name. I think he’s never faced a guy like me.”
