Former UFC Title Challenger Predicts Khamzat Chimaev Would Ragdoll Sean Strickland in Potential Showdown

Khamzat Chimaev, Sean Strickland

A former UFC light heavyweight title challenger thinks Sean Strickland is easy work for Khamzat Chimaev.

Chimaev, who is soon going to make the first defense of his middleweight throne, is expected to meet No. 2 contender Nassourdine Imavov next.
However, a couple of weeks back, after Sean Strickland stopped Anthony Hernandez in Round 3 at UFC Houston and made his case for a title shot, there have been nonstop rumours that “Tarzan” is fighting Chimaev next.

Recently, Khalil Rountree Jr., who has been training with “Borz,” gave his two cents on a potential Chimaev vs. Strickland bout.

The War House” first lauded Chimaev’s UFC 319 performance, where the 31-year-old secured more than 21 minutes of control time, landed 529 total strikes, scored 12 takedowns, and easily cruised to a unanimous decision victory to dethrone Dricus du Plessis.

The UFC 319 main event was a one-sided affair, and Rountree Jr. thinks if Chimaev fights Strickland, the latter would share the same fate as “Stillknocks.” On the Jaxxon Podcast, Rountree Jr. said:

“I see a lot of people on the internet saying things about Khamzat and him laying on DDP for however long… From a different perspective, it’s not that he just laid there. I think he just literally forced DDP to not be able to do anything.
When this guy fights, it is dominating… If you are a champion and you can’t get up from the ground, that shows some holes in your game. I think a fight against Strickland would go pretty similarly.”
