Damien McKenna Late Body Shot TKO At Cage Warriors 200.
Damien McKenna aimed to bounce back from a career defeat against Keith Keogh last year.
The first round was a tentative affair with both men striking well. Just over half way into the round McKenna landed a low front kick in a sour spot for Pedro Silva. After the restart Silva landed a gorgeous step in elbow cutting McKenna open on the top of his head. With blood pouring down his face McKenna went for a last gasp Kimura but was unsuccessful.
Round 2 began with concerns around the cardio of Silva after the Brazilian missed weight on Friday. McKenna pressured him against the cage put could not catch him clean as Silva slipped out on numerous occasions through the first half of the round. The gas tank of Silva began to visibly drain and McKenna unloaded against the cage catching the Brazilian but he could not find a finishing combination.
The circling around the outside from Silva continued into round 3 and McKenna was struggling to pin him down. The Irishman kept his range picking off with shots a distance. McKenna finally found the finishing blow with a brutal body shot. Silva crumbled against the cage after the left hook to the body landed.
Damien McKenna gets the late TKO at 4:36 in the final round in his second Cage Warriors bout.
