Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is one of the most polarizing figures in mixed martial arts (MMA) history. A profound knockout artist who sports a gigantic chain, and howls like a wolf, Jackson has become a fan favorite throughout his lengthy career that dates back to his days in Pride FC. “Rampage” reached the climax of his career when he became the UFC light heavyweight champion in 2007, but later left the promotion on bad terms in 2013, joining rival promotion Bellator.

Jackson strung together an impressive three-straight wins in his Bellator run, but had decided that he made the wrong decision leaving the UFC and began to voice his desire to return to the UFC’s 205-pound division he once ruled

His wish was granted and the former champion made his triumphant return to the promotion at this past weekend’s (April 25, 2015) UFC 186, scoring an impressive decision victory over Brazilian slugger Fabio Maldonado. With the win “Rampage” also reentered the UFC rankings, currently sitting at No. 11.

At the UFC 186 post-fight presser, Jackson stated that he would like to get revenge one some of the loses he suffered during his first UFC tenure including bouts against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, and Rashad Evans and ultimately work his way up to a rematch with the now disgraced former light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones. So what will be next for “Rampage”?

On last night’s edition (April 28, 2015) of UFC Tonight Ariel Helwani pitched an interesting possibility, stating that No. 7-ranked Ovince St-Preux, who recently brutally knocked out Patrick Cummins, was interested in a bout with Jackson. And not only that, but St-Preux would like to meet “Rampage” at an event set for August 8, 2015 in Tennessee.

This makes perfect sense as OSP played collegiate football for the Tennessee Volunteers, and Jackson grew up in Memphis. It also makes sense for “Rampage” as a win over St-Preux would boost him up the light heavyweight rankings. However, Helwani revealed that the former champion’s camp is for some reason not interested in the bout:

Thanks, but no thanks,” said Jackson’s camp on the idea.

It’s unknown as to why Jackson would not be interested in this bout, but whom would you like to see “Rampage” take on next?
