ufcLowKickMMA has been bringing you UFC news since 2006.

The UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) is the world’s largest MMA promotion and LowKickMMA provides daily UFC news and exclusives.  Beginning in 1993 the UFC introduced organized and sanctioned MMA to the United States. The promotion set out with the goal of finding the ultimate fighting champion pitting all disciplines of martial arts against each other in a tournament-style with a champion crowned on the night.

Since then the UFC and its ruleset have evolved to what you see today. A rankings system where fighters compete climbing the rankings to attain a championship belt. With health and safety for their athletes being a number one priority, The UFC in 2015 partnered with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) to independently monitor testing of its athletes.

Producing the largest stars in the MMA space such as Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey, Nate Diaz and Jon Jones, The UFC continues to cement itself as the premier organization in the sport and as the largest Pay-Per-View event provider in the world.

Here at LowKick MMA we provide you with all the latest updates from the worlds leading mixed martial arts organization.

Dana White: Not a fan of a proposed half point scoring system

One thing that almost everyone in MMA can agree on is the fact that the refereeing and judging leaves a lot to be desired. The ten point must system that was adopted from the world of boxing jsut doesn't seem to cut it in the world of MMA, but the solution to that problem doesn't seem to be an easy one.  One of the ideas that has been floated is a point system based on half point increments and not full points. When the system was mentioned to UFC president Dana White he didn't seem to be too

Dan Henderson will wait for a title shot at 185 or 205

In November 2011 Dan Henderson returned to the UFC after spending some time in the Strikeforce organization. During his stay in Strikeforce he captured the organization’s Light Heavyweight title, defeating Rafael Cavalcante by TKO. He followed up that victory with another TKO win, stopping Fedor Emelianenko in the first round. When he stepped foot in the Octagon in November he and his opponent, Mauricio Rua delivered one of the best main events in UFC history going toe to toe for the full 25 minutes

Jon Jones: I’m sorry I’m coming across as cocky

Jon Jones was 6-0 when he first stepped into the Octagon, defeating Andre Gusmao via unanimous decision at UFC 87.  From there he went on to defeat Stephan Bonnar, again securing a unanimous decision.  After that, none of his fights would go the distance and his only loss would be a disqualification for delivering 12 to 6 elbows to Matt Hamill in their December 2009 match up. Early in his run with the UFC, Jones was looked upon as a humble fighter, someone with great talent, but without a sense

Nate Diaz: Nick doesn’t need to fight

Following his loss to Carlos Condit at UFC 143, Nick Diaz implied that he would be leaving the sport of MMA. The legitimacy of that claim was put into question when his drug test came back with marijuana metabolites, earning him a temporary license suspension pending a hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Nick’s brother, Nate took part in the UFC on FOX 3 press conference this week and spoke about Nick’s potential retirement. “I’m not going to tell him to go fight

Ronda Rousey: If the person doesn’t tap you keep going

On Saturday Strikeforce crowned a new Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Ronda Rousey took the title from Miesha Tate via an armbar that forced Tate to tap before the first round came to an end. The submission victory was Rousey’s fifth in five professional MMA fights, all coming in the first round and all coming via armbar. The armbar left Tate’s arm twisted in what can kindly be called an unnatural angle prior to her tap.  There were some that said the referee should have stepped in

Josh Barnett issued license to fight in California

Over the weekend Strikeforce announced that the Strikeforce Heavyweight World Grand Prix final between Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier would take place on May 19.  Today, a second hurdle was cleared when Josh Barnett was issued a license to compete in the state of California. The hearing itself was rather lengthy and interesting for the fact that Barnett, perhaps unexpectedly, said about his positive test in 2009, “I can’t speak on the test itself, what I can say is I didn’t

Strikeforce Heavyweight Tournament Final Date Set

The Strikeforce Heavyweight World Grand Prix began on February 12, 2011. The intent was that the eight fighter tournament would conclude before the end of 2011. That was not to be and today the tournament still has not named a champion, even with the announcement that the promotion would be disbanding its heavyweight division. A date was recently announced for the final bout in the tournament as Daniel Cormier and Josh Barnett are set to meet on May 19 to crown the tournament champion. No location was

UFC on FX 2 Recap: Scoring issues mar Flyweight Tournament

Before the post-fight press conference for the UFC on FX 2 fight card began it appeared that the focus would most likely be on Martin Kampmann’s come from behind victory and the upcoming UFC Flyweight title bout between Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez. However that was not to be, as one of the first things that was announced was the fact that there had been a error in the Johnson versus Ian McCall bout and the fight should have been a majority draw, which would have necessitated a sudden

Ronda Rousey: If I have to make this sport seem marketable again I will...

The talk will come to an end on Saturday night. The level of animosity between Strikeforce Champion Miesha Tate and challenger Ronda Rousey has reached epic proportions in the weeks leading up to the fight with Tate saying that the relatively inexperienced Rousey did not deserve this total shot. While Rousey has only fourprofessional MMA fights, all first round submssion wins, that does not mean she is inexperienced in combat sports or that she isn't driven to greatness as ths video from SI.com

Thiago Alves vs. Martin Kampmann Head to Head: Who will win at UFC on...

Thiago Alves and Martin Kampmann will face off in Welterweight contest that may not have title shot implications, but will have definite impact on the rankings in the weight division. This battle of two accomplished strikers will take place on Saturday in Australia, but due to the pesky International Date Line the fight will be broadcast on Friday in North America, something to definitely keep in mind, so you don’t miss this one. These two may have had limited success in their recent endeavors, so
