There as been reports that a “undisclosed” injury had put Vitor Belfort out of UFC 122, putting Nate Marquart to take his place. Aside from nate being his replacement, none of that is true. Vitor is perfect healthly and is more then likely set to face Anderson Silva at the UFC 125 on January 1st.

In an unpublished article Anderson speaks about his future bout with Vitor Belfort. At the time of the interview the fight was still set for UFC 112 but has since been canceled.
With Vitor Belfort having to pull out of UFC 112 due to a shoulder injury, the UFC were starting to sweat on a replacement. Speculation even loomed that a match with current UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva may even be pulled from UFC 112 altogether.
Today however, UFC officials announced that Demian Maia will be replacing Belfort and the fight will still be for the Middleweight belt. Maia is coming fresh off a victory at UFC 109 against Dan Miller.
Vitor sustained a shoulder injury during training and will not be able to recover in time for ufc 112, no news of replacement has come yet.
