Bellator featherweight champion Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire got all he could handle against Daniel Weichel in the co-main event of tonight’s (Fri., June 19, 2015) Bellator 138 from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
The tournament-winning challenger nearly had Freire out on his feet thanks to a big right hand, a knee, and a flurry of pinpoint punches (courtesy of Zombie Prophet):
But Freire was saved by the bell and a second round began. Weichel came out aggressive with his strikes, but ‘Pitbull’ came back with an absolutely vicious counter left hook and an unnecessary follow-up shot to retain the belt in extremely dramatic fashion:
