Frank Mir used TRT while training for UFC 146

News recently broke that UFC 146 Heavyweight title challenger Frank Mir had received a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) for Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) prior to the bout. Confirmed by NSAC commissioner Keith Kizer, Mir was said to have T:E levels of roughly 1:1. This is a far cry from Alistair Overeem’s levels, the man whom he replaced in the bout. Overeem did not use TRT as a defense for his failed drug test and registered at 14:1 T:E levels.
The news comes as yet another example of a recent

Patrick Cote re-signs with the UFC, will face Cung Le at UFC 148

With Rich Franklin stepping in to fight Wanderlei Silva at UFC 147 as a replacement for the injured Vitor Belfort, Cung Le was left without an opponent at UFC 148. That question has apparently been answered with the return of former UFC fighter Patrick Cote. Cote, a former title challenger who faced Anderson Silva back at UFC 90, was cut from the promotion in late 2010. Following that loss to Tom Lawlor at UFC 121, Cote began fighting in other promotions, and has responded nicely by winning four in a row

Nick Diaz suspended for 12 months by Nevada State Athletic Commission

Today Nick Diaz finally appeared before the NSAC to decide his fate stemming from a failed UFC 143 drug test for marijuana metabolites. After much back-and-forth between the Nevada general attorney’s office and the legal team of Diaz led by Ronald Goldman, the commission decided to take serious disciplinary action and suspend the controversial fighter for a full twelve months. On top of that, 30 percent of his fight purse was taken in addition to his fight bonus.
This may come as a shock to some, seeing as

Three fights added to UFC on Fuel TV 4: Munoz vs. Weidman

Three additional bouts were added to the UFC on Fuel TV 4 event this summer. Featuring a main event of Mark Munoz vs. Chris Weidman, the card is now starting to take shape. In what promises to be an exciting show from the HP Pavilion in San Joe, CA, the previously announced Light Heavyweight scrap of Brandon Vera versus James Te Huna will serve as the co-main event, with three bouts just added. Two Bantamweight fights were announced, with TUF veteran T.J. Dillashaw will face Vaughan Lee, while Raphael

Dana White: If Anderson Silva and Hector Lombard both win this summer, that title fight makes sense

Since Hector Lombard was recently signed to the UFC, there has been no shortage of controversial news surrounding the former Bellator Middleweight champ. First, he called out current UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva, then scored a bout with Brian Stann at UFC on Fox 4, and then requested a pre-fight drug test prior to the bout to prove he is clean of PEDs. It is clear he is wasting no time on making an impact on the UFC. However, no news was as relevant as the statement Dana White gave yesterday,

OFFICIAL: Mark Munoz vs. Chris Weidman will headline UFC on Fuel TV 4

The rumored headlining bout for UFC on Fuel TV 4 has been officially confirmed, as Mark Munoz will face surging prospect Chris Weidman on July 11. This bout will feature two of the Middleweight division’s fastest-rising stars, with both combatants riding four-fight win streaks.
Munoz had been surging as of last fall, when he destroyed Chris Leben with ground-and-pound in Birmingham, England. Utilizing his NCAA wrestling prominence, Munoz has patented his own style of “Donkey Kong

UFC on Fuel TV 2: Will Brian Stann vs. Alessio Sakara be an all-out war?

This Saturday’s UFC on Fuel TV card features a co-main event bout between Brian Stann and Alessio Sakara. Like its main-event counterpart, this fight features two strikers known to look for the knockout early and often. While all the makings for a toe-to-toe war are in place here, Stann believes the opposite may take place, saying the following on an interview on Fuel TV’s UFC tonight:
“If we go toe-to-toe in this fight, I believe I have the advantage. I feel I have more power than anyone in the

Mark Munoz on TRT therapy: It’s cheating

“It’s cheating. I think it’s cheating. I think anything that’s synthetic that you put in your body is cheating. Get it from food, get it from training. That stuff jacks you up when you’re done. For me, I’m a family man, I have kids, I have a wife and I want to be there for them at the end. I think when you take PEDs or anything like that, it cuts your life short. When it becomes like that, it’s almost hedonistic. It’s not a sport anymore. It becomes more than a sport and it shouldn’t be like that. There’s

Dan Henderson: I would rather fight Jon Jones than Rashad Evans

Dan Henderson has come forward with his preference for his promised UFC title fight, and he is pulling no punches concerning the reasons why. Henderson said that he would rather fight Jon Jones than Rashad Evans due to how their respective styles match up. He had the following to say on the subject:
“I think Jon Jones is a better fight for me. His style matches up better. Jones will stand-up with me more. Rashad is real well-rounded, he’ll stand and bang with me a little, but he’ll be
