“Mayhem” Accuses Nate Diaz Of Being On Drugs When He Signed To Fight Dos Anjos

The last time we saw former Strikeforce and UFC fighter Jason “Mayhem” Miller, he was live tweeting a police standoff at his Southern California home that resulted in yet another arrest for the embattled, enigmatic MMA veteran.

Today (November 11, 2014), “Mayhem” is back in the news for a less drastic set of circumstances. Miller took to Twitter earlier today to blast his longtime rival Nate Diaz, who will return from a yearlong hiatus to face off with No. 3-ranked Rafael dos Anjos in the co-main event of December 13’s UFC on FOX 13.

It’s undoubtedly a tough task for Diaz, as dos Anjos most recently knocked out former champion Benson Henderson at August’s UFC Fight Night 49. Never one to mince words, Miller thinks Diaz was under the influence of a certain narcotic when he signed on to face “RDA”:

Miller isn’t exactly in a position to criticize people about their decision making skills, but he may have a good point about Diaz’ return bout, albeit in a (very) roundabout way. Dos Anjos has looked nothing less than impressive in recent years, his lone setback a decision loss to dominating grappler Khabib Nurmagomedov at April’s UFC on FOX 11.

Meanwhile, Diaz has been out of the cage since finishing the quickly fading Gray Maynard at last November 30’s The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 Finale. He’ll need to show up in the best shape of his career, and even then he may not be able to stop the momentum of dos Anjos.

Miller’s beef with the Diaz brothers dates back to the infamous in-cage brawl at Strikeforce: Nashville in April 2010, where “Mayhem” was attacked by Nick and Nate Diaz, Gilbert Melendez, and Jake Shields. The incident resulted in both fines and suspensions for the involved parties, and was also the last-ever Strikeforce event ever aired on CBS.
