With his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) coming to an end this spring and the possibility of a trilogy bout with rival Frank Mir on the horizon, the talk of a potential return to the Octagon for former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has hit an all-time high. And just to intrigue fans more, Lesnar actually sat cage side at last night’s (February 28, 2015) UFC 184 from the Staple’s Center in Los Angeles, California.

Lesnar is one of the biggest stars the sport has ever seen and arguably one of the UFC’s biggest draws of all time. The former champ when out on rough note, getting brutally finished in back to back fights against current champion Cain Velasquez and Allistair Overeem in 2010 and 2011 respectively. Lesnar was also struggling with diverticulitis.

Reportedly healthy, fans are chomping at the bit to see Lesnar return to the Octagon. When asked about why Lesnar was in attendance, UFC president Dana White gave MMAJunkie a very familiar answer, not giving fans too much information on a possible return:

“Apparently Brock Lesnar is a UFC fan, and he was in town and wanted to come see the fight tonight,” White said, with a hint of annoyance. “He’s under contract with the WWE, and when his contract is up, I’m sure he’ll call me.”

The boss did share some words with the big man, however, as Dave Sholler broke the news of Lesnar’s attendance via twitter:

The former champion has actually not come out and said anything publicly regarding whether he would like to fight again, and he could have no plan to fight again at all. However, until he signs a new contract with the WWE, fans will likely keep their fingers crossed for a return to action for the collegiate All-American.
