KJ Noons wants a shot at the winner of Melendez vs Aoki fight

KJ Noons has been out of action for almost two years now and is set to make his MMA comeback when he fights at Dream 13 against Andre Dida. Noons hasn’t fought since EliteXC went under in 2008. Noons won the EliteXC belt when he beat Nick Diaz by TKO and defended it once against Yves Edwards, winning by TKO, before the organization went bust in 2008.

Since 2008 Noons has continued in his Pro-Boxing career winning 4 of his last 5 fights, during that period he turned down an offer from Strikeforce to fight Josh Thomson. When asked about possibly facing the winner of the Melendez vs Aoki fight Noons had this to say:

‘I think they are both great fighters, I don’t know who will win, but I want to fight the winner. I just want to fight the best.’

Of course Noons will have to beat Andre Dida before he could even be considered for a title shot, and after two years out of action some may feel that he hasn’t earned the shot yet.
