The third bout on the main card of UFC Fight Night 95 promised to be an exciting tilt. Lightweights Paul Felder (12-3) and Francisco Trinaldo (21-4) went toe-to-toe inside the Octagon.

“Massaranduba’s” offense once again proved to be the difference as the cut he opened on his opponent was enough to earn a doctor stoppage.

Felder targeted the lead leg of his opponent with kicks in the opening frame. Trinaldo landed two kicks to the body and blocked a spinning backfist. “Massaranduba” began to find a home for the left hook. Trinaldo held Felder against the fence and landed some knees. Trinaldo missed an uppercut on the break. He blocked a high kick as the round ended.

Trinaldo was aggressive at the start of the second stanza. He swung for the fences, but blood trickled down the side of his eye. Felder connected with a kick to the body. “The Irish Dragon” was taken down and threw some short elbows off his back. Trinaldo opened up a huge gash on the side of his opponent’s head, close to the eye. He landed two elbows as Felder looked to stand up. The two separated and didn’t engage for the last 10 seconds of the round.

Trinaldo was circling around the Octagon and had his high kick blocked in the final round. A straight left connected for “Massaranduba” and blood poured down the face of Felder. The fight was halted to check on the cut. It was determined that Felder could not continue and the fight was called off.
