Daniel Cormier vs. Brock Lesnar Rumored For Summer Pay-Per-View

Cormier breaks

Ahead of his appearance at WWE’s WrestleMania XXXV event tomorrow night, UFC brass could already be planning on the return of former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.

A clash with current champion Daniel Cormier is rumored to land on this summer’s UFC 241 card.

Seed Planted

The former champion last appeared at 2016’s UFC 200 with a decision victory over Mark Hunt before a return to professional wrestling. A failed USADA test just weeks later resulted in a suspension, preventing an immediate title tilt.

Cormier, on the other hand, scored his first title defense against Derrick Lewis at UFC 230. Lesnar confronted AKA staple Cormier after he achieved ‘champ champ’ status against Stipe Miocic. The confrontation planted the seed for a later clash.

Louisiana native Cormier has switched his full attention to heavyweight since claiming the title in 2018. Former rival Jon Jones faced Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232. He reclaimed the title once again after Cormier relinquished it the day before.

Cormier’s next challenge could be Lesnar even if many hoped for ‘Bones.’

August?

First reported by Brazilian outlet AG Fight, Lesnar will reportedly waste no time after his WWE contract finishes up. He will supposedly return against Cormier at August’s UFC 241:

Cormier has been campaigning for a lucrative bout with Lesnar for some time. Many want the 40-year-old champion to face rival Jones a third time before the retires. But he appears content to get paid huge by facing Lesnar and ride off into the sunset. That’s not to say he couldn’t be talked into a second fight before he calls it a career, however.
