No. 4-ranked Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovksi recently picked up a huge win over No. 5-ranked Travis Browne at May 23’s UFC 187. The fight only lasted one round, but it turned out to be one of the greatest rounds of all time, with each man getting rocked, and “The Pitbull” eventually finishing the job and scoring a first-round TKO victory. Check out the highlights here.

A former UFC heavyweight champion, Arlovski has now rejuvenated his career, winning five-straight bouts and winning his last three bouts since returning to the Octagon. “The Pitbull” actually happens to be in Mexico City this weekend for UFC 188 where the heavyweight title will finally be defended as champion Cain Velasquez returns to meet interim champion Fabricio Werdum.

So what’s next for Arlovski? A title shot could definitely be on the horizon with the lack of contenders in the UFC’s heavyweight divison, but “The Pitbull”, recently speaking with MMAFighting, said that he will not ask for a title shot.

Another possibility is a bout with No. 8-ranked Ben Rothwell who recently picked up a first-round submission win over Matt Mitrione at June 6’s UFC Fight Night 68. Rothwell then called out Arlovski and “The Pitbull”, despite possibly being deserving of a shot at gold, said that it would be an honor to fight any of the division’s top contenders, but ultimately it’s up to the UFC.
