Jarrell Miller addresses the reason behind his decision to push Anthony Joshua during their first press conference.
They will meet inside of the ring on June 1st, 2019 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. Joshu’s WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles will be on the line.
They met in New York on Tuesday at their first public press conference together. Once they got on stage for photos, Miller pushed the heavyweight champion.
While speaking to iFL TV, Miller revealed that the reason he did this was due to Joshua smelling bad.
“He was smiling, Miller stated (H/T to Give Me Sport). “There ain’t nothing to f***ing smile about. I don’t know what he think was going to happen. I remember the first time at the press conference he wanted to have a conversation with me, sit down and talk. I ain’t got nothing to f***ing talk about. I got nothing to talk about. You want to talk to me, come punch me in my face. That’s how we talk. I respect war.”
Joshua enters this fight with a pro-boxing record of 22-0 with his latest win coming over Alexander Povetkin back in September by TKO in the seventh round in London, England at Wembley Stadium.
On the flip side, Miller comes in with a record of 23-0-1 and is fresh off a KO victory over Bogdan Dinu at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas.
