Rising prospect Edmen Shahbazyan looked to continue his MMA ascent when he met Charles Byrd on the preliminary card of tonight’s (Sat., March 2, 2019) UFC 235 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He got it, and it took less than a minute. Shahbazyan, who is trained by the controversial Edmond Tarverdyan and managed by Ronda Rousey, turned the tables on Byrd early. Defending a takedown attempt, Shahbazyan nailed Byrd with a series of Travis Browne elbows to knock out Byrd in only 36 seconds to keep the momentum of the card rolling.
