It is speculated that George Sotiropoulos is set to face either B.J Penn or Kenny Florian this upcoming November. If Sotiropoulos gets passed either of these fighters he sets himself up for a title fight this February. What makes this even more important for Sotiropoulos is that he would be fighting for the UFC’s Lightweight title in his home country of Australia. With B.J and Kenflo both coming of devastating loses this could mean the difference between being a LW contender and being a LW gatekeeper.

Although he would be a huge underdog in both versions of the bout, Sotiropoulous is on a six fight winning streak in the UFC. He is coming off a decision win against tough veteran Kurt Pellegrino at UFC 116.
