Featherweight champion Conor McGregor attempted to make history when he met lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez for the 155-pound title in the main event of tonight’s (Sat., November 12, 2016) UFC 205 from Madison Square Garden in New York City in what may rank as possibly the biggest fight of in Octagon history.

And make history he did, as ‘Notorious’ battered ‘The Underground King’ for the majority of the first round, dropping him three times with his custom straight left hand. It only got worse for Alvarez in the second round, as Alvarez’ wrestling proved to be fully ineffective as McGregor avoided his takedowns to land a final fight-ending combination.
