Breaking: Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather Reportedly Finalized For August
It’s about to go down.
The mega-fight between UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. is reportedly set to go down on August 26th in Las Vegas, Nevada, per a report from Joe Biggs on Twitter (confirmed by Yahoo Sports):

The official terms of the deal were not revealed, however, the report suggests that “Money” could make the fight official via social media as early as today (Wed. June 14, 2017). No venue has beet set in stone either, as the MGM Grand and T-Mobile Arena are the obvious leading candidates.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) approved Mayweather Promotions for an August 26th slot at the MGM, but it could easily be changed to T-Mobile. Yahoo Sports was unable to reach UFC president Dana White, Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe or Showtime’s Stephen Espinoza regarding the announcement.
Mayweather announced his retirement from boxing back in September of 2015 after defeating Andre Berto via unanimous decision to rack up an undefeated 49-0 record. “Money” seemed pretty firm on remaining retired form the boxing ring, until talk of a possibly match-up with Conor McGregor came around. Mayweather then began to sing a different tune, saying he’d only come out of retirement, for a potential 50th win, if it was against McGregor.
McGregor was last seen in the Octagon back in November when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez in the second round to become the UFC’s first ever dual-weight champion, securing both the lightweight and featherweight championship. “Notorious” then decided to take the next few months off to enjoy the birth of his first child, but will now get back to work inside the training room as he prepares to take on arguably the greatest boxer of all time on August 26th.
