UFC 172 Post-Fight Bonuses: Gomi, Vallie-Flagg, Benavidez, & Beal Bank $50,000 In Baltimore

In a night full of action-packed fights and impressive performances from the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland, the UFC 172 bonus winners are in from the UFC 172 post-fight press conference.

Not surprisingly, Takanori Gomi and Isaac Vallie-Flagg took home $50,000 apiece for their “Fight of the Night”-winning war that saw “The Fireball Kid” take home a unanimous decision win. Vallie-Flagg appeared to have the edge early on in the bout, but Gomi soon turned the tables to leave him battered and bloody at the fight’s conclusion.

The two “Performance of the Night” bonuses could have gone to a multitude of challengers, but ultimately they went to The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 alum Chris Beal, who scored an amazing flying knee KO of Patrick Williams in the night’s opening bout, which aired on Fight Pass.

The final ,000 “Performance of the Night” award went to none other than Joseph Benavidez, who weathered Tim Elliot’s aggressive wrestling to lock on a super-tight guillotine submission that had his opponent flailing as he tapped. An impressive bounceback performance from “Joe-Jitsu” after getting knocked out by one of the world’s best fighters in Demetrious Johnson his last time out.
