Bellator MMA finished off 2015 with Bellator 147 on Friday, December 4th, 2015 at San Jose State University in San Jose, California. The event aired live in prime time on Spike TV.

Josh Thomson and Pablo Villaseca met in a lightweight bout at Bellator 147 as the main event. Thomson controlled the entire fight with his takedowns and ground and pound. It took until the second round, but in the end, Thomson won by TKO. A very impressive win by Thomson, who called out Michael Chandler after the fight.

Daniel Weichel and Georgi Karakhanyan met in a featherweight bout at Bellator 147 as the co-main event. This was a technical fight that had it’s rare moments of good action. The fans were not into this fight nor were fans on social media. In the end after a stand-up fight, Weichel got the win by unanimous decision.

Patricky “Pitbull” Freire and Derek Anderson met in a lightweight bout at Bellator 147. A very close fight that saw both men have their moments with both striking and grappling. After a three round war, Anderson was awarded the win by split decision.

Adam Piccolotti and Mario Soto met in a lightweight bout at Bellator 147. Piccolotti was simply the better fighter. Piccolotti dominated the first round with his grappling and used it to his advantage in the second round. Piccolotti beat the holy hell out of Soto from full mount with elbows that busted open Soto. Piccolotti locked in the rear-naked choke in the same round for the win.

Opening the main card on Spike TV was Virgil Zwicker vs. Brian Rogers in a light heavyweight bout at Bellator 147. This was a sloppy fight on the feet, but Rogers was in control for the majority of the fight. He had some sloppy stand-up, but had great takedown ability and once the fight went to the ground, he was the superior fighter. In the second round, Rogers took him down and got an arm triangle submission for the win.
