Royce Gracie Vs Harold Howard

Having already won the first two UFC tournaments, Royce Gracie was the king of the hill heading into UFC 3 in September of 1994, but while he won his quarterfinal bout that night against the much larger Kimo Leopoldo, the hard-fought encounter had taken its toll on him.

So much so, in fact, that the exhausted Gracie practically had to be carried back to the dressing room by his corner afterwards.

Gracie was set to fight Harold Howard in the semifinals later that night, but while he did make his way to the Octagon, he was still in bad shape and complained that he couldn’t see, so the towel was thrown in before the fight even started.
