Video: Joanna Jędrzejczyk & Rose Namajunas’ Intense Staredown

Joanna vs. ROse

Tomorrow night (Sat. November 4, 2017) UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk will attempt to make her sixth consecutive title defense when she takes on 25-year-old challenger Rose Namajunas.

Jędrzejczyk is undefeated in her mixed martial arts (MMA) career and has won 14-straight fights, finishing four via knockout. Jędrzejczyk has downed the elite of the division in names such as Carla Esparza, Jessica Penne, Claudia Gadelha, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, and Jessica Andrade. With a win over Namajunas, Jędrzejczyk will have essentially defeated all challengers worthy of a title opportunity.

Namajunas lost out on the chance to be the inaugural 115-pound champion of the UFC back when she lost to Carla Esparza via third round submission back in December of 2014. Since then “Thug” has gone four for five inside the Octagon, as her most recent appearance saw her down “The Karate Hottie” Michelle Waterson in the second round of their fight this past April.

Now Jędrzejczyk and Namajunas are set to square off in one of three title fights on tomorrow’s UFC 217 pay-per-view (PPV) from Madison Square Garden. In the lead-up to the fight Jędrzejczyk has been attempting to get into the head of Namajunas with her trash-talk, however, “Thug” has seemed unfazed by the Polish champ’s brash attacks.

During the ceremonial UFC 217 weigh-ins Namajunas finally started speaking back to Jędrzejczyk, who was firing off insults as the pair squared off. You can check out their interaction here:

If Jędrzejczyk is able to win tomorrow night she will tie Ronda Rousey as the most successful female champion in UFC history. Then she can set her sights on breaking newly-crowned UFC title defense record-holder Demetrious Johnson‘s incredible feat of 11. Who are you picking tomorrow night in New York?
