UFN 30 Open Workout Highlights

Ultimate Fight Night 30 is just days away from going down in Manchester, England. Featuring a headlining bout of Mark Munoz vs. Lyoto Machida, I know the fighters at UFN 30 will get a huge reception from the native Machunians.

Also on the card is a potential barn burner between Melvin Guillard and Ross Pearson at 155. The two feared strikers will likely provide a KOTN candidate as they both love to put fists on chins.

Although the card lacks the star studded line up of say UFC 166/67, these events can be sleepers amongst the more ‘famous’ cards. I hope this is a great card; who knows, maybe it will be.

  • I love Munoz's comment "he knows I'm coming with power and authority". Closing the distance against Machida is not going to be easy but having sparred with him gives an advantage that Jon Jones struggled to adapt to in round one

    • Yeah great point, but also Machida will have an advantage that Boetsch and others didn't

      • @Rory…true, swings both ways…i think I'll have to go with Machida in this fight.

  • I'm going with Munoz in an upset. Machida has great TDD, but Munoz is in shape to push th pace now. Machida is getting exposed a bit, I saw an interview where Phil Davis said that if you throw single strikes at him he never has a chance to counterstrike you when you rush in for a combo. That should come into play here.

    • Phil Davis exposed nothing. I don't care what the judges say, he lost that fight. Except for Jones and Rua none of the guys that "beat" Machida accomplished more than edging out a very controversial decision.

    • I had nightmares for one week after seeing Munoz's body shots on Boesch
