UFC Rankings Updated: Ross Pearson Breaks Lightweight Division’s Top 15

The official UFC rankings have been updated following UFC Fight Night 47 which went down this Saturday (August 16, 2014) from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.

In the main event Ryan Bader grinder out talented Strikeforce prospect Ovince St. Preux to take a unanimous decision. The win marked “Darth’s” third straight in the light-heavyweight division but it doesn’t move him any further up the rankings as he stays at No.8. OSP also keeps his spot at No.10.

The co-main event saw British standout Ross Pearson hand former lightweight title challenger Gray Maynard his third consecutive knockout loss in as many appearances. With the win “The Real Deal” has managed to crack the top 15, taking the No.3 spot. Maynard drops three places to move one behind Pearson.

Jussier Formiga picked up a big win in the prelims this weekend, taking a unanimous decision over former Bellator champion Zack Makovsky. With the win the Brazilian shot two places up in the flyweight ranking and he now sits at No. 4.
