  • Hyped for the Rory/BJ staredown!!!

    • rory will destroy bj

      • im a bj penn fan by the way

      • OMR, i like your posts for the most part.. but methinks you're smoking crack when you made that post.. Just sayin.

Although i have to admit, yes I'm biased, I'm a big BJ Penn fan.

  • I didn't think BJ looked in great shape. Not even close. He doesn't look like he's in a-hard-three-rounds shape.

I thought it was pretty funny how Penn "eased" his way up to Rory, as opposed to getting right up in his face. I think deep down he doesn't believe he can beat The Automaton. I think The Automaton is going to stomp all over BJ. Sorry BJ, but I think by the time this fight is over his legacy is going to be even more tarnished and he'll once again be debating retirement, because he just can't suck it up and stay @ 155. He is too small and not dedicated enough for 170. That will be easily proven tomorrow night.

    • I weaked you because I think Penn can definitely beat Rory but I will admit Penn didn't look in as good shape as I expected… kind of worrying but the £40 I put down now

  • I don't believe it's a LowKick policy that you have to explain why you weaked someone. My advice Keith, put down another 40 quid on Rory and call it a day.

  • Penn looks in the best shape I've seen him for 170, ever. Still think Rory will win, but he will have to weather in insane first round.

    War BJ

    • I think he's going to lose Evan, but if he does win / pull it off (he's the under-dog) good for him. Regardless, I still don't believe he could win 4 in a row and get a title shot @ 170.

      • Four in a row? Why did that come up? He's BJ, he'd only need one maybe 2 wins to get another title shot.

If he wins, which is a big if, I have a hopeful feeling he'll be given the winner of Diaz-Henderson at LW. Which would be fan-fucking-tastic.

        • If he beats Rory, there's one win. Another win beyond that, would not garner him a title shot @ 170. I just don't see it. He needs four wins to get a shot at the title. IMO. And in terms of him being offered a fight @ LW. Which is it LW or MW? This is part of his problem, pick a division. Further, I fail to see how a guy coming off of one win in the 170 division would be entitled to a shot @ the 155 title. Particularly given that he'd held and challenged for that title only three fights prior. I don't get the MMA-math on that one.

          MacDonald TKO Round 2

          • Dude, are we talking about the same "sport"? You fail to see how one win for a former multi-division champion, that's extremely popular, would get him within one win of a title shot? How? Do you suddenly think the words "deserving" and "earned" are going to show up in Dana White's line of thinking? BJ's a draw, and if he beat Rory, and say Johnny Hendrics/Josh Koscheck/Jon Fitch/Jake Shields he would have defeated two top ten guys (depending on the second opponent maybe a top 5 WW). One being GSP's close training partner that he is mentoring (giving us fans the ol' revenge factor).

If you think that's somehow out of the realm of possibility if BJ wins, than I'll just say the names Nick Diaz and Chael Sonnen.

On the 155lb title part; He's looked at as the best LW of all-time. He'd be 2-1-1 since moving up to WW, and after Diaz the next #1 contender is Pettis/Cerrone (who aren't fighting for another 2 months).

Then we come full circle to the part about him being a draw (a much bigger one than any LW currently competing).

          • true…it may not be right but the ufc is all about business (money) which is why no one can be surprised about the hendricks decision or if bj would get a title shot if he wins this.

    • BJ Penn is an animal while he is dominating, but the moment he gets challenged he quits and wont come out of his corner…just like in the pierre fight

He is a talented fighter but mentally weak, rory will run through him

  • Diaz (initially 155.6, then 155.2), Martinez (158.8), and Assuncao (136.4) all missed weight. Martinez will not make 156, so he is forfeiting 20 percent of his purse and the fight will go on as scheduled. Assuncao made weight on his second attempt. Diaz made 155 pounds on his third attempt.

  • Go BJ!!!!!

  • "Get the fuck outta my face"
    Rory Macdonald

  • Is it just me, but when I was watching the preview show, I kept getting that "serial killer" vibe when they interviewed Rory Macdonald- like a crazy angry guy trying to pass as a "normal human" or something ha ha. I've heard plenty of fighters talk crazy in interviews, but it was like he was trying to *hide* his craziness that makes me feel it, I suppose.

    • kind of saw that in the post fight interview too. Not sure why the crowd was booing him though. Seriously, mobs are fickle, sooo stupid. They all start cheering "BJ" due to fans of the prodigy or just USA, dunno, but then eventually cheering "Rory" because McDonald was winning. Not sticking with the original person they were rooting for…then , at the end, booing Rory…why ??? cuz he is not USA and it was in USA ??? I dont get it, but yea, he still has that serial killer sort of look about him, lol…lil crazy and hiding it, or trying to.
