Team Sonnen And Team Wand Come To Blows On The Set Of TUF Brazil

The very same day that Chael Sonnen released a video update about his rivalry-fueled coaching stint opposite Wanderlei Silva on The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3, a report has surfaced that the two teams have come to blows on the set of the show.

UFC President Dana White spoke up at a Monday media luncheon to say that a fight erupted where one of Silva’s team sucker punched Sonnen in the fracas (transcribed by

“Wanderlei and Chael fought,” White said. “Just today. They literally fought. While they were fighting one of Wanderlei’s guys sucker punched Chael. They went crazy, crazy s— happened there. We’re dealing with that right now too. … They literally fought today, it went on for awhile.”

While there was no exact report to clarify the details of the situation, it’s clear that the heated exchanges between bitter enemies Sonnen and Silva reached a fever pitch in no time at all. While that may not come as a surprise, it wasn’t something that was necessarily needed to promote their upcoming fight according to White:

“It’s one of those things, it’s on a reality show, it’s good and it’s bad,” White said. “A fight didn’t need to break out between these two for people to be excited about this fight, because these two have been at each other’s throats.”

Indeed they have had a mutual hatred of one another for quite some time now. The day has arrived where Sonnen and Silva should put their rivalry to rest once and for all. But with filming barely underway in Sao Paulo, will they make it through the preceding season of TUF?

  • Dana doesn't fcuking care about what happens to Chael, as long as it's publicity, not that he can't defend himself, but he's on hostile territory doing company work (hats off to Sonnen). That would be just a pat on the back for stirring up the TUF Brazil, from Dana to Silva's team.

    • Zip

Exactly brother! I'm not alone after all 🙂

    • Stop acting like he's going to get shanked.
I'll put my money on Chael coming home alive and well from a job he chose to take.

  • Give us the damn video footage! Right now!!!!!!!

    • When I was young I wanted to see raunchy videos but as I get older I want to see Chael and Wanderlei get it on?!?! What's wrong with me?

      • sounds like someone can use a dose of TRT to get that tingle back down south!

    • Thats all I want.

  • Well I suppose Wanderlei/his team jumping Chael is better than a random group of angry Brazilians?

  • Does anyone else think this is staged…seems to convenient for ratings.
    wwe 2.0

    • They literally hate each other. Chael has been talking **** about wandy for years. 110% legit beef.

      • That has nothing to do with them getting in a fight outside the octagon….its for ratings

        • Its a gamble then if they planned it, if either guy got injured they would blow a huge ppv pay day.

    • I think we will have to see how hard they were going at each other, and the guy on wands team that sucker punched Chael, should be kicked out of the house

      • Kick him out! Kick him out! …I mean, I agree. 8))

  • WWE is what TUF has to be to get ratings. SAD. This is why MMA will never be mainstream and why Dana isn't fit to run an ORG. Crap like this makes the sport look bad. Professionals don't fight outside the cage. Bad examples and reflection of MMA

  • I'd bet a decent ammont of coin on Wandy having/faking an injury to avoid fighting Chael in the octagon. He already got a lot of money for his part on TUF…

  • Ivy

In other words the UFC staged the whole thing undoubtedly to hype the show. Dana D*uche is the Jerry Springer of mma.

  • Sounds like Chael was getting the better of it, if one of Wanderloopies team mates had to throw a punch. That team member should be removed from the show PERIOD! It wasnt his place to act at all.

    • Better yet, let Chael whoop that noobs azz.
