Bellator 122, as from the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California, is collapsed and in the books and it was certainly an interesting night of fights. The card, as televised on Spike TV (July 25, 2014), sported five matches with four of them ending by way of first round stoppages. In each case the winners of the bouts impressed. The fighters that really shined tonight had to be Liam McGeary, Brandon Halsey, and Andrey Koreshkov. McGeary looked sharp as he smashed Egidijus Valavicius to advance to...

In what has been a week of big news, one of the more significant stories to break had to be that of the resigning of welterweight fight Nick Diaz. Spearheading a shocking week of MMA news, many fans were surprised when the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) granted embattled UFC middleweight Vitor Belfort a license by to fight champion Chris Weidman in the main event of December 6’s UFC 181 from Las Vegas. After all, Belfort had admittedly failed a February 7 drug test given to him by the NSAC after taking a week’s worth of testosterone-replacement therapy (TRT), a finding that may have the set the wheels in motion for the controversial...

Anthony Johnson will look to continue his rise through the ranks at tomorrow's (Sat. July 26, 2014) UFC on Fox 12, as he battles wily veteran and BJJ whizz Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. With much at stake for both men at varying points on the scale, 'Rumble' will look to impose his striking power on the more natural grappler 'Lil Nog'. Much of the chatter surrounding this tilt is regarding age and experience, and whether or not Nogueira can still hang at aged 38. Although he is more experienced as a fighter,...

UFC light-heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson really broke on to the scene in the MMA world when he earned his first big league title shot, against nne other than 205-pound wrecking machine Jon Jones. The fight went down at UFC 165, and 'The Mauler' put in more than just a game showing against 'Bones', in fact, many fans still believe that Gus won the title that night. UFC on FOX 12 LowKick Staff Predictions

Robbie Lawler vs. Matt Brown: Mike Drahota: Obviously this is one of the hard-hitting bouts the UFC could have put together on paper, and it promises to be a great showcase of MMA on national television. Lawler has looked the best he ever has since re-debuting at welterweight. He’s hell-bent on getting another shot at Johny Hendricks and his championship, and I think it would take the equivalent of a large truck full of dynamite to rip that goal away from him. Brown has looked more than impressive during...

Nick Diaz is one of the best welterweights in the UFC. However, he hasn’t fought in the senior circuit since March of last year (2013). Post his unanimous decision loss to (then) reigning champion George St. Pierre at UFC 158, Diaz has opted to sit on the sidelines for the last 16 months in semi-retirement, declaring that he was unhappy with his current contract. Sticking to his mantra of wanting more money to fight, Diaz has been unable to secure a new deal with UFC President Dana White, who, for the...
