Michael Bisping Talks Bout With Cung Le: If I Lose This Fight, I May Have To Think About Doing Something Else

No. 8-ranked UFC middleweight Michael Bisping has seen better days in his eight-year Octagon career.

After returning from surgery for a detached retina, “The Count” dropped a lackluster decision to No. 6 Tim Kennedy in the main event of April 16’s The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Nations Finale from Quebec.

Bisping was largely unable to unleash his trademark kickboxing due to Kennedy’s stifling grappling, and the TUF 3 winner will admit that. The Cypriot striker spoke up to Inside MMA‘s Ron Kruck to state that he may have rushed back to the cage to face Kennedy:

Rushed or not, it’s a bit late for Bisping to make excuses, and all he can do now is rebound strong. He’ll have that chance against Cung Le in the main event of UFC Fight Night 48 on August 23 from Macau. If he can’t get past the returning former Strikeforce champion, well, Bisping said he may just have to find something else to do with his time:

Always known for his creative banter and skills on the mic, there’s probably not a lot of weight to Bisping’s half-hearted retirement talk. But the talented veteran does hold himself to a high standard, and at 35 years old, time is running out for him to make a legitimate title run in one of the toughest divisions in all of MMA.

Will he get back on track against Le, or have we seen the beginning of the end for “The Count?”
