Jan Blachowicz Submits Devin Clark With Standing Rear-Naked Choke

Jan Blachowicz may have earned a “Submission of the Night” bonus with his win over Devin Clark.

The second bout on the main card of UFC Fight Night 118 featured a light heavyweight tilt. Blachowicz and Clark did battle inside the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland.

Clark immediately moved forward for a takedown attempt. He engaged in a clinch battle against the fence. Blachowicz gained control of the grappling. Referee Marc Goddard broke up the clinch. A leg kick was there for Clark. Another slapping leg kick landed.

Clark had some sloppy punches to try to move forward. A left hand to the body connected for Blachowicz. He landed a knee to the body. An overhand punch had Blachowicz a bit wobbly. The round ended with both men at the center of the Octagon.

Clark again rushed forward for the start of the second stanza. Two hard body kicks landed for Blachowicz. Clark felt the second one and held his midsection briefly. Blachowicz scored a takedown on Clark, who previously hadn’t been taken down in the UFC.

Clark got back up, but time was called. Blachowicz got in an accidental poke. Time resumed and Blachowicz locked in a standing rear-naked choke for the submission win.
