Invicta FC 6 Recap: Cyborg Terminates Coenen For Featherweight Crown

Invicta FC 6 got off to a pretty rough start after Livia Von Plettenburg missed weight by an astonishing 8lbs. She ended up having Kathina Catrone step in on one  days notice to fight her, then during the warm up on fight night Tamikka Brents suffered a knee injury which caused her bout against Ediane Gomes to be scrapped.

Eventually the card went down and put on some pretty decent fights. In the main event, Cris ‘Cyborg’ Santos battled Marloes Coenen for the inaugral Invicta FC FW title. The bout was as one sided as you could imagine. Cyborg stuffed all of Coenen’s takedown attempts and basically bullied Coenen throughout the bout. She scored multiple slams and knockdowns, en route to a nasty fouth round TKO win.

The real question following the victory is when will Cyborg sign with the UFC? Neither Cyborg or Ronda Rousey will ever be the undisputed queen of WMMA without first facing one another. That’s my opinion, but I imagine it’s in the back of both of their minds too.
