On Vacation, Dana White Reacts To Jones/Cormier UFC 178 Media Day Brawl
UFC President Dana White wasn’t present at today’s (August 4, 2014) wild UFC 178 media brawl between light heavyweight champ Jon Jones and No. 1 contender Daniel Cormier.
Apparently, the promotion could have used him, as his replacement was promptly thrown aside by the much larger “Bones,” who didn’t react well to “DC’s” shove during their presser staredown.
Arriving in Bora Bora for his first vacation in a long time, White tweeted his reaction to the spectacular media frenzy:
I just landed in Bora Bora for my first vacation in a while and it’s starting off perfect!!! @dc_mma and @JonnyBones

The brawl is far from a good example for the sport of MMA, which could definitely use one given the recent run of negative news concerning performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs).
Either way, UFC 178’s main event was already one of the bigger fights of the year; now it just exploded into the stratosphere in terms of hype and media buildup.
So while White may be a bit perturbed and inclined to issue some small disciplinary action to the fighters, the truth is that his pockets just received a massive boost thanks to Jones and Cormier’s lack of control.
Did the impromptu scuffle make you want to see this fight even more, or is a black eye on the sport that could have been avoided?
