Hector Lombard Hoping To Fight Winner Of Rory MacDonald vs. Tarec Saffiedine
Former Bellator MMA middleweight champion Hector Lombard is looking to get back inside the cage with not having fought in nearly six months and he has his eyes set on a possible title eliminator against the winner of Rory MacDonald vs. Tarec Saffiedine.

A bout between the MacDonald and Saffiedine winner makes sense with the rest of the division either being booked up or injured. “Lighting” also revealed he would not be requiring surgery after suffering with a cervical herniated disc which was pinching one of his nerves.
Lombard has certified himself as one of the top contenders in the UFC’s welterweight division after taking dominant victories over Nate Marquardt and Jake Shields. One more big win should be enough to give him a shot at at the title.
MacDonald vs. Saffiedine will take place in October at UFC Fight Night 54. The event takes place in Halifax and marks the first time the UFC have visited the city. “Ares” vs. “Sponge” will serve as the main event.
With two impressive wins himself in his latest performances, MacDonald himself is on the very verge of a title shot. If he picks up another dominant victory against the former Strikeforce champ he may campaign to for the winner of Johny Hendricks vs. Robbie Lawler.
An upset against “The Canadian Psycho” would also be enough to put Saffiedine in line for welterweight gold given MacDonald’s status in the division. The Belgian is on a hot streak in his career on the end of six straight wins.
Matching Lombard up with the winner works and keeps the division rolling but I have a feeling it’s going to be a difficult thing for him to get.
