Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is currently one of the hottest fighters in the lightweight division and in the UFC overall. Riding a six-fight win streak with four stoppages that includes wins over Evan Dunham, Adriano Martins, Edson Barboza, Jim Miller, Eddie Alvarez, and Myles Jury, “Cowboy” is knocking at the door of a coveted UFC title shot.

His most recent win was a unanimous decision over Jury at January 3’s UFC 182, but Cerrone was not happy at all with his performance. Carrying a motto of “anywhere, anytime”, “Cowboy” put those words into action by agreeing to get right back in the cage on just 13 day’s notice to take on former lightweight champion Benson Henderson at next Sunday’s (January 18, 2015) UFC Fight Night 59.

Cerrone has never been one to wait around for a title shot, wanting to fight as often as possible and make the most money as possible, which could be the reason he is such a fan favorite. Famously saying he wanted to fight six times in one year, fans are always eager to see “Cowboy’s” entertaining fights.

However, the fans can also connect to Cerrone outside of the cage for his thrill seeking lifestyle. Leading up to his fights, he is consistently filmed participating in extreme sports such as racecar driving, flying planes, and wake boarding. He is truly a different breed then other fights, with his very own unique style that fans can’t get enough of.

In his 16-fight UFC career, the Jackson-Winklejohn product could be the closest he has ever been to a title shot, and a win over Henderson could very well warrant him that shot.
