Dennis Siver misses weight in Sweden; Comes in at a perfect 145 lbs on second try

Today Dennis Siver stepped onto the scales for his Featherweight debut against Diego Nunes at UFC on Fuel TV 2, and the results were not what he hoped. Coming in at 147 lbs., he was one pound over the class limit of 146 lbs. After fighting his entire UFC career as a member of the Lightweight class, it appears that the weight cut for Siver was more than he had anticipated, as he appeared a bit dehydrated. He was given two hours to lose the last pound and weigh in again.

Siver was the only fighter to miss weight as all other combatants were within limit. Since there is no title on the line here, the ramifications of him missing weight should not be too harsh save for the fact that his body is most likely depleted. This could have a great effect on his performance against Diego Nunes, a highly touted boxer with only two losses to his name.

Barring any unforeseen complications, Siver should be allowed to fight as planned. It will remain to be seen if he can fight as well at Featherweight than at his usual 155 lbs. *UPDATE* Dennis Siver has returned to the scale after his allowed two hours to lose one pound, and has come in official.  Registering at 145 lbs., Siver’s bout with Diego Nunes will go on as originally planned.
