Jon Jones And Daniel Cormier ‘Death Threat’ Video

By usatodaysports

As if the beef wasn’t already super-heated between UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones and his upcoming challenger Daniel Cormier, things have taken a turn for the worse. After the two had a violent encounter on stage at a recent UFC 178 media day, they exchanged barbs live on Sportscenter, after publicly apologizing for the fracas.

One thing we didn’t see was what happened between takes during the broadcast on FOX, and it was disturbing to say the least. first posted the video of a ‘hot mic’ out take from the recent media showing, and the two engaged in a much more sinister, off-air exchange of words, here are the quotes for your consumption:

Jones: Hey p-ssy, are you still there?

Cormier: I’m here. I’m here. You’re just the fakest person. I actually admire that you can just be this fake, and when like that TV comes on, how can you just change. It’s like you’re a chameleon. It’s awesome.

Jones: Hey listen, I’m a professional.

Cormier: It’s awesome. It is unbelievable.

Jones: The fact that you’re a p-ssy hasn’t changed.

Cormier: It’s unbelievable how fake you can really be. It’s like you’re just such a f-cking p-ssy. My God. It is amazing. It is amazing. But hats off to you. You’ve got a great PR person because they do a great job of training you because you are just terrible. You’re the scum of the f-cking Earth. You are a terrible human being. But you can sure turn it on.

Cormier: I wish they would let me next door so I could spit in your f—ing face.

Jones: You know I would absolutely kill you if you ever did something like that, right?

Cormier: You could never kill me.

Jones: Oh, I bet you I could.

Cormier: Then you should try, Jon. You really should try, Jon.

Jones: I will literally kill you if you spit in my face. Literally kill you.

Cormier: Let’s try that, Jon.

Jones: I’m not saying I would fight you. I said I would kill you if you do some silly sh-t like that.

Just, wow! I’m still on the fence as to whether the UFC 178 media day brawl was real or not, but this exchange seems anything but staged. Death threats, harsh insults and the bad language to boot; this feud truly is turning out to be very interesting indeed. All this, and still well over a month before the two actually fight.

So what do you think, is this one of the most elaborate, well-plotted media stunts of all time, or are these two just about ready to tear each other’s heads off?

  • This is getting better by the day lol loving it

  • DC sucks at talking trash.

    • He does suck at it cause he is a genuine nice/kind family man unlike Jones

      • "You’re the scum of the f-cking Earth" Would someome please inform me to what Jon Jones has truly done that is so horrible and evil that has made people hate his guts??? All you Jon Jones haters can't say DC isn't acting like a dickhead as well. You guys act like Jon is the only one doing all this shit, its 50/50 both hate each other. These types of hate fueled altercations and situations outside the UFC would prob be the exact same way with two schmucks on the street. Someones says they will spit in your face, the reply would be "Bitch I will kill you, if you do that"

All I know is that on September 27th 2014, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas, Nevada, there will be some Black on Black crime, Live and only on PPV. So as UFC fans not just Jones and DC fans lets enjoy the great fights we get to watch.

        • The point is that Jones sells a whole other persona for the cameras and the crowd. DC is not the first fighter to call him out for his 'fakeness', I guess it's because they see what he's really like when the cameras are off.
I always thought there was something off with Jones even though his press conferences etc. could make him seem like a really laid back nice guy.

          • He actually is a nice guy, just because you call someone a pussy that just automatically makes you a terrible fake person??? Obviously Jon acts differently on camera, he isn't going to swear and carry on if front of kids, the scuffle at the press conference was a one off thing, Jon has never been involved in anything like that. You think DC would say on national TV that he would spit in Jones face??? Does that make him a fake person?? No its a total different situation when its these guys sitting near each other, with voice communication of course they are going to talk shit.

          • Jones has been schooled at a young age to perform in front of the cameras as you say thus creating this false persona.

However, that so many jump on the hate wagon shows how many gullible fools there truly are. Jones does a great job of selling his fights. No matter what he does his profile gets raised very high beyond what his ability in the cage raises it and whether by design or by fluke, he puts bums on seats, sells ppvs and kicks ass.

So hate all you want guys; he's achieved more in his short time on this planet than most here will achieve their entire lives.

        • You are right, these two guys seem to hate each other. And yes DC is behaving like a dickhead towards Jones. But Jones is acting like a dickhead towards his fans. Like he says, he's a professional. A professional liar and fake.

Remember how he acted on the sportcenter that was aired? You don't see that as fake compared to what he says here above?

That's the difference. It's fine that Jones acts as a DH towards DC. But being that fake is a big F U to Jones fans. If Gus ever acted like this he would loose my support.

          • All he did was call him a pussy. Don't you think saying you are going to spit in someones face is a little worse? What Jon has done isn't that bad, its petty crap. The main thing with me is how Jon fights in the cage, the people that dislike Jones have nothing to say about his skills in the cage. If you can't see how deadly and good Jon is your blind. I think DC is a serious threat to Jon, I use to really like him before all this shit started. I still respect his skills as a fighter, he has elite wrestling and his top control is some of the best in MMA. But I think Jon is on a different level with his striking and submissions.

        • Spacejam, You're insulting me u dont know me and i didnt even talk to you. Im down in sydney if you want to say it to my face.

          • You do realize Jon has a wife and kids right? So he is a kind family man exactly the same as DC. How in the fuck did I insult you? I will be in Sydney at the end of the year, I got no problem saying something to your face.

          • Anwargobbygopoo

After training for nearly twenty years of training martial arts, I have never met a bully with actual heart or courage…

Rather, they get hit in the liver.. they see the guy keep coming forward, taking their shots and hitting back.. and realize the playground is not the place they are now..

You have the brain of an errant flea, and it is probably best that you find a place where your nonsense will be tolerated.. at your mommas…

Now run along, silly silly child.

          • Was that directed at me?

  • These guys will set mma back 20 years after this feud concludes at the pace they're going.

    • Yeah, like Tito and Shamrock ruined MMA and it never recovered 😉

      • Apples and oranges, that was a "dark time" in mma and all the shenanigans were with 2 idiot meat heads with Ortiz and Shamrock, this is a corporate sponsored champ that is a main face of company and the other is the face of many UFC events and now UFC is pretty damn close to main stream. I was exaggerating when I said they'll set mma back but it's not a good reflection of UFC to have your fighters going WWE and threating to kill each other. I am sure it's a bump in the road overall, but overall this is pretty bad.

  • It's mostly jones though. DBAG!

  • Oh these fucking crybabys.. Ye sure for people that already know the mma world this is hype. For the regular person this makes it or breaks it, getting the hype or thinking of these guys as some dudes that belongs in prison.. And people who are against mma are surely gonna use this shit =/

Way to go guys, way to go 🙂 :/

    • Your mom won't let you watch anymore right? 😉

  • Jones has to be the worst champion out there. Trash talk is one thing, but the level of disrespect he shows for Cormier and the fakeness while on camera and the constant bullshit is something else. What kind of champion and role model says 'you still there pussy?' After the camera turns off. I hope DC fucks him up I really do

    • Man shut your sensitive ass up. All you do is cry about shit like a chick.

  • Jones is a grade A bell end!

  • Wondering when DC lost that tooth, never noticed it before…

  • Zip

Jon is in so much trouble.

  • Ivy

Now it's DC acting like a complete douche bear.

    • Hey Ivy, you got four WEAKS now for saying something foul about their utmost beloved DC…expect to get 80 more before the day is over with. I hate jealous, judgmental crybaby men. It's getting old, LADIES.

      WEAK THAT!!

    • Jones starts shit off by saying "Are you still there Pussy" and DC is the douche? YEah that makes sense dude…. that makes a lot of sense!

      • What about the interview the other week?? Jon was asked what happened with the altercation, he replied with his interpretation of the situation and DC's first reply was calling Jon "Jon Dummy Jones" How mature of DC totally not douchey at all.

        • Probably because he changed his story from the original one he told which confirmed cormiers story

      • Ivy

Alright – my bad. They pulled the video down when I wrote this, and I didn't see that Jones had spoken first. You're right, Jones was being a douche.

  • Wow. Nice way to deter this fight from occurring. Evidence now that will not be overlooked. Ufc could cancel this fight or be told to scrap this fight by higher ups. Entertainment sure but it could fuck this up.

  • way to go JJ youre a great role model smh

  • Whats wrong with you guys who complain about the brawl and now this video? I remember back in the days in boxing when fighters would fight each other on the streets, at press konfrences and so on… Thats just awesome!! Jones and DC do not like eachother, they train to litteraly "kill" one another everyday… So why act like they are friends? Shake hands and kiss ? Yeah, they are role models and pro atlethes .. But they also have their own private values, that no company can make them put aside, and DC was not taking the head bump from Jones, and Jones was not taking the push from DC, but since both of them are pro fighters, i don't think any of these emotions will show in the cage, but the result will be painfull for one of them.

  • Its been a gang of male bashing going on lately.
Is this site called Lowkick or Lesbokick???

  • thats not a threat…that was a warning lol

  • I'm a big fan of Bones, and most of the time his perceived 'arrogance' doesn't bother me at all but there is no place in any sport for death treats.

And because of the inherently violent nature of MMA, it's even more important that it maintains an atmosphere of sportsmanship. Or you just give ammunition to people who want to ban the sport. And don't kid yourself, they all still out there, just ask any MMA fans in New York.

I once bitched about BJ Penn on this site for doing the same thing to GSP, so I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't say the same about JJ. He should shut the hell up and do his talking in the ring. I could care less about his image, but this tarnishes the image of the whole sport.

  • So, Cormier dislikes Jon Jones's personality to the point that he thinks he has the right to spit in his face?

For people that are blaming Jones on this, I ask you, would you let someone spit in your face without wanting to do serious physical harm to the person that did it? There is not a man on this thread that would sustain that action without a serious freaking response. There is not a man on this thread that would sit back and take the threat, without stating what they would do in return.

Further, I would point out that spitting in someone's face would be classified as an assault. As such, any person, including Jones, would have the right to defend themselves.

The only thing that Jones is guilty of(here)is excessive hyperbole.

To me, the one that is over the line is Cormier, not Jones and I think he should get his knuckles rapped for it.

Here is a question, what is more likely to happen, that Cormier will spit in Jones face at their next staredown or that Jones will kill Cormier for doing it? The fact of the matter is that Cormier is more likely to spit in Jones's face, than Jones is to kill him for doing it. As such, the one to worry about in this scenario is Cormier, not Jones. To the point, Dana White needs to talk to Cormier and to ensure that it does not happen. And if Cormier were to spit in Jones's face, then he should be thrown out of the UFC for the action.

His comments were unacceptable and they were based on his dislike of Jones's personality. Sadly for Cormier, his dislike of the Jones's personality does not extend to him the right to spit in the champ's face. To the finer point, it doesn't give him the sanction to even talk about doing it.

White needs to talk to both of his fighters and settle them down. It would be a drag if this fight failed to materialize for some out-of-Octagon action. However, I think the one White needs to talk to the most, is Cormier. He needs to tell him, no spitting at Jones. Of course, the sad part about that is that he would even have to have the conversation in the first place. Cormier is a grown man and a professional fighter, and he should already know this stuff.

As to fans blaming Jones for his reaction, I truly don't understand it. Again, no man is going to allow that to happen or sit idly by and allow someone to make the threat, not without responding to either the action or the threat. For those that doubt it, go out tonight and start threatening to spit in some men's faces or better yet actually do it, and see what happens.
