Dana White says next season of TUF has a fighter that puts everyone in the hospital

Dana White already knows that the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter needs to wash the taste of the previous season out of our mouths. We know it was bad, he knows it was bad so it’s obvious that he’s been hoping and praying that the next batch of fighters will perform a lot better than the last. We also know that White is always going to promise that the next season is better than the rest. We’ve become used to it and pretty much will believe it when we see it. At a recent media luncheon however, White made the case that there’s one fighter on the new season that is constantly sending opponents to the hospital and nobody wants to fight him.

“I know you guys are going to call bullsh*t on me and all that,” he said according to MMA Fighting. “I told you guys, last season of The Ultimate Fighter was the worst season in the history of TUF. This next season is so awesome and so badass. We have a guy on this season of The Ultimate Fighter, every fight he’s in, someone goes to the hospital.

“The whole house is terrified of this guy,” he continued. “F*cking terrified. Everybody. I picked this fight, and this guy is lined up with the guy I’m telling you about, and the guy has a nervous breakdown in the house over the weekend. Has a f*cking nervous breakdown. Freaks out and has a nervous breakdown. This guy scared the living sh*t out of everyone. It’s awesome.”

Hopefully White isn’t pulling our legs with his tale of the mystery fighter that wrecks opponents. It’s been some time since TUF produced a quality fighter that made an immediate impact in the UFC.

The new season of TUF featuring Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen as coaches begins on January 22nd on FX.

  • Dana is obviously revealing alot more because of the ratings slump….but from what he has described, seems like its going to be some great fights or at least bad ass beatings.

    • I remember Dana saying philippe nover being the next GSP before he became a fainting goat.

      • Dana White, used car salesman, is once again trying to sell something that no one wants to buy.

        • ….and you will watch every single episode, hypocrite.

          • Who watches TUF anymore? I will see those fighters when they make it to the UFC.

  • i think it is Renato Laranja lol

  • i was in put in hospital for a lay and pray enduced coma after watching colton smiths highlight reel

  • This will be the first time on a show a dude sends himself to hospital without fighting out of fear

  • so the show is a cast of assault rifles ?

    • The dude in TUF 16 with the mo hawk takes the prize for being the biggest knob on ultimate fighter history. Chris Leben was another guy, pissing on beds, flipping out but the new leben is a cool guy. There are definetly audtioning from tuff straight from rehab or a mental institution

      • Evidently you've already forgotten about Junie Browning…

        • After 16 seasons my memory has faded…but yeh you are completely right about Junie Browning and the long list of other guys like josh Koscheck.

  • That's not a good thing to announce about some guy putting fighters in hospital.. This is a sport and to advertise this just adds fuel to the fire of MMA being a brutal sport that's not fit for general viewing. This is just my opinion if you Dana wants to put MMA into the main stream you can't be happy or glad that some competitor puts people in hospital.

    • No matter how you, Dana White or anybody else puts it…it is what it is. A regulated but violent sport.

      • X murderer,

If you think about the sport in relation to the numerous films which are released on a weekly basis showing people being shot, killed or attacked against their will… it's not that violent.

A key difference being that both participants in the cage have agreed to be there.

For anyone who would say well films are not real, the sub conscious part of the brain cannot distinguish between fact and fiction, which is why people cry, get scared or are shocked during a film.

So if anything, the general public need educating as to what violence really is, as this is a sport which has existed for thousands of years,,, it's a sport which teaches and taught many of us discipline, respect, honor and courage… Those who don't get it will never get it… however from a marketing perspective the UFC only needs around 15-20% market penetration before it becomes the new boxing…

        Warm wishes/ Merry Christmas

        • Well said, Odesa.

Merry Christmas and warm wishes, to you.

        • I was just about to say well done onemoreround. Your first intelligent post on lowkick then realised it was hitman.

    • @ Cookie 77….good point…Tune in too watch dude gets smashed !

It makes you ask the question….Is this guy that good a fighter, or are the people chosen for TUf 17 that bad. To get on the show you generally need to have a big winnings streak behind you in some smaller promotions. having said that, there are a ton of guys in the UFC with consecutive KO wins sending guys to the hospital. But advertising the sport as guys going to hospital sounds pretty sadistic….Everyone likes a great fight, but noone wants dudes getting hospitalised

      • Finally, based on the fact alot of guys get sent to the hospital after a UFC fight, both winners and losers makes you smell a rat !

Dana may very well be overhyping TUF 17….

  • Define going to the hospital and I'm still waiting on the promises of Silva / Jones or Silva / GSP "going to happen".

  • its steven seagal!

  • Tat

This can only mean 1 thing! CHUCK NORRIS MADE IT ONTO TUF!!!

  • Diaz has him beat hands down, he kicks guys asses in the hospital.

  • It would be awesome if he was talking Aoki…just sayin

  • Let me guesss. Teixeira?
