Cesar Gracie Says Tax Comment By Nick Diaz Isn’t Correct

After all the hoopla and fanfare over recent comments made by Nick Diaz at the UFC 158 post fight press conference regarding never paying taxes, longtime Diaz trainer, Cesar Gracie says that his statements were not accurate. Diaz had said, “I can’t be jumping teams. I just have to invest a little bit more, now that I have a little bit more money…..You know what? I’ve never paid taxes in my life. I’m probably going to go to jail.”

If those statements were true, the 29 year old fighter from Stockton, California would indeed be expecting a visit from Uncle Sam. Gracie, however, explains that Diaz was not correct in saying that and that Diaz had paid more that $100,000 to the government in the last two years. “Nick is a little crazy, but he has paid taxes.”, Gracie is quoted saying to USA Today Sports yesterday.

To further complicate things, a Canadian based lawyer who claims to have a personal relationship with Diaz, disputes what Gracie states. Jonathon Tweedale went on record to say, “ Nick thought Cesar (Gracie) was taking care of (taxes) for him, and Cesar wasn’t….It doesn’t mean Nick is screwed, but it does mean things to be figured out.” And hopefully for the former welterweight champ, it will be sooner than later.

  • Oops!

  • The media wants to lock diaz up, Shut up about it. Sheeple mentality,''Ohh he didnt pay taxes ohhh" Ask mitt rommney about taxes or The countless of billionaires who prey on the i.r.s. The I.R.S. is pathetic, they rule with an iron fist. Hints why, all these media site have to cover this story, Talk about HOW they STEAL BILLIONS OF AMERICAN MONEY DAILY IF NOT YEARLY… but no, we want to pick on a underpaid fighter, whom life is consumed by the sport…

    • @ Muff, don't beat around the bush, tell us what you think.

      • That some fighter are underpaid, the ufc should have a set budget for their top guys to accommodate their training camps…That is pure madness that Yahoo, to bleacher report to lowkick are reporting about Nick's unpaid taxes. Is like the social sites are begging for the irs to look in to the matter and take nicks hard earn cash away, I also think that the IRS preys on americans hard earn cash, I have a small drywall company and the IRS, hounds man, its ridiculous the taxes i HAVE to pay plus insurance Plus a random fee from the IRS, those thieves using our money for, War,jails,BAILOUTS etc..now we have a fighter who FIGHTS HIS WHOLE life, and the irs may chew his behind up..Unless im bugging out and diaz is being paid millions and is just living a soo lavish lifestyle and is part B.M.F. crew.. (Blowing Money Fast)

      • @Michael S……if only i could hit funny twice.

    • @ The Muff

If we don't pay our taxes, then who would pay for our enslavement?

Don't be so rough on The IRS. Their Constitutionally un-ratified self, along with Constitutionally un-ratified Federal Reserve, has been around far too long to be F###ED with, now.

And please leave the precious billionaires out of it. It wasn't easy on them to ship all the manufacturing jobs to China and India. They're stressed enough as it is, please leave them out of all MMA debates.

  • … just in case anyone from the IRS is also a UFC fan

  • "I mean I have Turbo Tax but I can't use that **** what's up with that? They start askin' me all these questions like if I have kids and **** and how much I make and I'm like why do you need my money? Doesn't the US make money?"

  • @muffin I agree with most of what your saying. But lets not kid ourselves. Nick makes a lot of money but he loves to play the victim role. Nick likes to tell everyone to go f*ck themselves then wonder out loud why everyone thinks he's an a**hole. He likes to say how he's not trying to be disrespectful then he tells you to go f*ck your mother. Don't worry about poor little Nicky he's doing just fine in keeping all of us interested.
